rigid string geometry

2006

the installation "rigid string geometry" was developed by ludger hennig and hanns holger rutz at the studio for electroacoustic music (SeaM) at the hochschule fuer musik in weimar. this work derives from a site-specific work "installed piano string", that was developed by students of the HfM and the Bauhaus University under the supervision of robin minard for the Franz Liszt Museum in weimar in 2005/2006.

a vertically installed pianostring is brought into vibration by feedback cycles and electroacoustically transformed into a spacious sound object. in the open studio at the tesla, berlin, the installation is expanded as "rigid string geometry" and recontextualized in a new architectual space.
